I think if the CPO is the size of a cherry shrimp it's already juvenile? Mine is about 1.5cm long.

So what's the difference between a CPO and a small orange clarkii? I notice that the small orange lobsters in the bags at C328 have a deep orange colouration, and a mottled pattern of fainter orange (more like white) spots, with two barely-visible orange stripes down their back.

Cambarellus Patzcuarensis orange form:
For Cambarellus patzcuarensis is a crayfish in the family Cambaridae with a body measuring 4–5 centimeters, including claws. The species is named after Lake Pátzcuaro, and is endemic to Mexico. Most specimen found in the wild are brown, sometimes with a gray or blue tint.

Cambarellus patzcuarensis var. "Orange" (Mexican dwarf crayfish, sometimes Mexican dwarf orange crayfish) is an orange-coloured mutation often held in aquariums, but this form is not found in the wild.

Look at the two big claw they are smooth & some lesser orange white pattern
Max size Male & Female 4 to 5 cm.
Ratio size between Head & Body 1 to 2
lifetime 2 year



Procambarus clarkii Orange form:
P. clarkii grows quickly, and is capable of reaching weights in excess of 50 g, and sizes of 5½–12 cm long. It is also able to tolerate slightly saline water, which is unusual for a crayfish. The average lifetime of Procambarus clarkii is 5years.
Easy to ID:
Ratio size between Head & Body 2 to 1

this Mexican drawf crayfish orange look so cute and nice thinking of keeping a pair.. i saw them in some of them in lfs they dun look so orange show in this pics?

where the come from is for Mexican ..???

there is a small tank full of these.

It is placed beside the CRS/guppy/betta tanks..

the CPOs i have so far only one look orangey like the ones in the pics... the other still a bit pale but it's also kinda smaller... hopefully the colour becomes more orange when it's bigger

Yeah, those are really eggs, not grapes.
Will show newly hatched babies and 2 months old type.
