Hi Qian Hu
I have some space issue in my main tank. I wonder if hydra 30 is able to function well mounted horizontally on my sump compartment floor instead on the wall. I was thinking of purchasing one soon. Thank you.

Hi QH,
I am having a 5x2.5x2 ft tank with 4 ft sump, housing 14 big size ryukin. Which hydra model do you recommend? If I choose Hydra 50, shoud I use 1 or 2 to be effective? And best place to place it in the main or sump tank?

Best regards

Hi,

You may want to consider to get a hydra stream instead since you intend to place it in the sump tank as there is a return pump. However, Hydra internal will still be usable too.

Hi,

You may want to consider to use Hydra stream instead as there are more cata pure cartridges for the bigger size and you are placing it in your sump tank as well rather than getting 2 hydra 50.

Hi QH,
How to connect the Hydra stream? Need another pump?
Currently tank size 5x2.5x2 with 4 ft sump.
Appreciate if you have picture to show.

Or a hydra 50 is sufficient?

Hi,

You will need another water pump to flush your tank water through it unlike hydra internal where its comes with a pump.

Hi QH,

i have been using the hydra 40 since last aug. Last night i discovered buzzing noise from the filter, i took it out, open it up and couldnt find any problem. But the noise is still there after i put it back.

Is it defective? Please advise what should i do?
