redcross Help with Giant Gourami

Hi all,

My giant gourami seems to be suffering from some disease, but i am not able to identify... mine is a white giant gourami, about 40cm small.

His gills are turning red from day to day, hes juz sits at a corner sian sian lidat, but when i walk to him, he will flare at me like any other normal giant gourami.

Whenever i change his water, hes gills turn better to normal color ( i change water and add medication * Copper solution * and add aquarium salt ).Fish becomes active again

But after few days, gills become red again. Fish becomes active again

Why is this happening ?? Can someone help me plz ?? Could it be the temporary chlorine in my aquarium killing the parasite ? ( because i add tap water to my tank den i add the anti chlorine to my tank )

Thanks for all for comments, Been WC-ing almost every 2 days, fish seems better now, redness seems to go off by quite abit ( abt 60% )

I dont know what is the problem still tho, when the fish was sick, it doesnt eat pellets, oni eating blood worms, when its better, it will every everything, including fruits, lol ~

What does coral chip do ??? My filter media include cotton wool and ceramic Rings

Giant Gourami can stand very bad water conditions.

I highly suspect is PH problem.
As bro 'Eagle' suggested, adding coral chips to your filtration is a good idea.
