My big mama female always get bitten until very badly....
Do you guys separate them? Or just let them together? Or there's hiding places???

I have 2 adult females... but both my males keep Fing the bigger female...
and once i separate her out... they went for the younger female....

Very horny males..... or shld i just keep a horny male instead of 2???
For me i would just keep 1 male... but it still up to the individual...

my opinion is just keep one capable and horny male to reduce the injuries suffer to the ready female.i notice even u increase the number of females also no use bec the male will only go for a ready female and ignore the not ready females.infact u are lucky that your two horny males can co-exist,bec my male only allows himself to be surrounded by only females,he killed other competitors

I separate the male and female when she is bitten badly or very stressed out (cannot eat). But everytime when i put them back, it starts all over again usu within few days even when she is pregnant. I figure that in the wild, the female probably moves off far away from any male after mating and thus avoid injury.
Same like yr experience, the male tends to go for a particular female ( ? ovulation releases some pheromones which stimulates male but suppresses females)

very difficult to answer your question leh, generally smaller(younger)ray is less tolerance than bigger(older)ray.for a 8-10''disc size can go for 2-3 wks w/o food.for a 13-20''disc size can be a mth w/o food.all assuming they are healthy in the beginning

Hi, I am new to ray. Just want to check if I want to put ray in my Xback tank as tankmate. So male or female ray is better to be a tankmate? My tank got 1x aro, 1x tig, 4x 7 to 9inch ST, 3x 5inch alge eater. Any advice?
