kois like goldfish prefer cold water over hot, unless they sick.
remember they come from japan initially.

Koi keepers installed chillers to cool the water. Heater not ideal for them.

Bros.

I am using CL450 to chill the water to 29 degrees, my electrical bill increases by about $60 per month. And my FGT is only 5 x 3 x 2.5 ft only. Water cap at 800 litres.

What will be the norm temperature if you dont use the chiller?

Probably about 31 degree C. So my setting on the chiller is at 29 degree C.

Just wondering is it possible to attain 29degC with just an AC fan? Will it save on electric bill? Used to use fan for my smaller aquariums, but never try for such big FGT before. Unstable temperature and high evaporation may also be an issue I guess

Default No need

I think Koi is very adaptable to our temperature. Only countries with winter need to install heater in the pond. Outdoor pond with plenty of sunshine is the ideal place for them IMHO.
