Once I bought frozen calamari from supermarket to feed my fish but was rejected. Probably too hard or no taste.

my aros/rays all eat sotong fine and feeding frequency is as per normal. some aros did take a while to start taking sotong readily though.

I tried once...

Disaster. The fishes ended up playing with the food and leaving it to choke the filtration system.

I seriously think i saw my fishes rolling eyes at the "food"...

i think it's a conditioning issue... i don't feed live food, and staple food is a few types of pellets plus any type of frozen feed... eg sotong, kunning, ikan bilis, white bait, herring etc... hardly give mp cause it's expensive plus troublesome.
i don't see any real preferance for one type over the other, especially for the comm tanks .

one thing for sure though, fish are a lot less fussy when they're in comm tanks. either monkey see monkey do, or they just dont want to lose out so they eat everything n anything.

i stopped givin MP ever since I found white bait.
The @#$%^&*( fussy eaters prefer white bait.

And for me is easier also.... thaw 1 box, fill up 3 ice cube trays and throw into freezer.. 1-2 cubes per day.
