Yes, did a spring cleaning on my current 12 trays full of medias.
Top most (Filter Wool Only)
13Kg momotaro (Bottom, middle & Top) trays
8kg Coral Chips (Top, Middle) trays
2Kg Seachem Matrix (Bottom Tray)

See the weight abit scary.

The "seeds" can come from air. Actually soil borne but spores so light we probably breathe in couple thousand from the environment everyday.

Speaking from my experience.

As Kiang said, it will cause clogging and water over flow. Appreciate your suggestion.
Cheers!

Seeding denitrifying bacteria is different from seeding nitrifying bacteria as denitrifyingbacteria thrive in very little to no oxygen and dark environment. They require to be fed as well.

You can fill a small container with your current tank water and dirty media. Close the lid and let the water stand for 1-2weeks till the oxygen drops till zero. Measure and record the No3. Add sugar and special blend bacteria. Close the lid and let the water stand 2-3weeks. Measure the No3 and compare with last reading.

I had emailed to Seachem. Their denitrate products does not required to be fed with sugar or vodka.
