u can remove the biosponge, the thick bottom layer black sponge below and place ur different layer of medias.

Was thinking such a small system need skimmer or not.. haven decide but was surprised the tank is indeed quite small.. i think the most can put 1 piece of live rock and maximum 2 small fish..

Nv use a IQ5 b4, so cant tell.

But is yr worry for the pump? no enu aeration, flow rate not enu to sway the coral?

this tank quite small.. soi guess maybe my worries are unfound of. I'm more worried about the mixing of water.. coz i usually fail when it comes to doing that.. =s

oh btw.. this is just a start up, I may try to move on to a bigger one like 2feet once I get hold of marine. Hopefully i'll pass the first test.

u will get yr "1st class" after this test, coz bigger tank is say to have less fluctuation on parameter.

any IQ5 user? how u guys install the pump into the small compartment? when i try squeeze in the pump into the bottom the tube will not push the water out of the pump.. but when i put it outside the compartment it worked did u guys cut the tube to shorten it or? there not instruction hence i'm damn sad..

it should be inside the bottom of the compartment. mine work fine, water being pumped out.

check if the hose got bended inside the compartment, it should be more or less straight to the small hole where the discharge head is fitted into.
