Default types of cardinal tetras

Hi, at C328 I saw 2 pricing for cardinal tetras in the same shop $18 vs $30 for 30 pcs...other than size, are there any differences? Tks

IMO, from my observations, within C328 itself, no difference but i noticed that cardinals carried by some other shops may have the difference of the blue stripe not as bright and the red does not cover the belly as much and not as red.

The more expensive ones are the Cardinal Tetras whereas the cheaper ones are the Neon Tetras. The cardinal tetra's red strip carries throughout the length of its body and because of that looks more vibrant.

I've seen LFS labeled the bigger ones as "jumbo cardinal".

So many types of tetras out there... my planted tank mainly tetra tank...
- albino white tip tetra (near transparent body) (50 for $20)
- balloon red eye tetra (50 for $20)
- something else, orangy n black stripe, tetra (50 for $20)
- Cardinal tetra (50 for $28 [slightly bigger ones cost more])

All gotten from Seaview. For such, i rather buy from farm tho it is out of the way. Those from lfs were also from farms, but packed for how long already? Some fishes becomes sick.

I made a mistake... the last batch, cardinal tetras, were not quarantine and 'bath' with Pazi Gold. Maybe this breed of tetras are very weak, out of 50 pieces, easily 15 died.. and likely, the disease also killed my 2 full grown and stable cardinal tetras.

Be Wary!!!
