Heater glass explode
Just when I begin to attempt to treat dropsy, the moment I put the turned on heater in, the glass exploded with a pop sound lucky didn't cut the swallow[IMG][/IMG]

In Singapore and not in air conditioning room, no need heater.

The correct procedure is only turn on the power after placing it into the water. The root cause is the sudden temperature change, thermal shock experience by the glass.

Singapore weather is very hot already, your fish still got heater.I don't think it is good to add heater to fish tank not in air-con room

bro
most prob is that the heater was turn on at high temp for a period of time before putting into the weater. Due to sudden temp changes, water in the tank being cold compare to the surface heated temperature of the heater glass. Thermal shock occurs and result in the crack. If that was not the case, please advise what happen before that so the rest of us would know |

Yes I set at 28,29 then put it in. My guppy wasn't electrocuted or shocked at all.

Luckily no one was injured.. The heater should be turned on after putting into the water.. if possible, in future, read the instruction before using the equipment.
