i found the short bodied red kelahs very very sensitive to even little bit PH swing. Very hardy fish but PH swing a bit only got fin rot issue - very im chim fish. I dont get it that often with the thai blues and local blue kelahs.
Seems like a good fish for testing PH and other water parameters. They wont die but rather display physical problems like whitening of the fins (initial stages of fin rot). Those into Aro can try this fish as a good "tester". Not sure if it is of the same sensitivity as tin-foil barbs and tiger barbs. |
