It's from a personal perspective.

I tried using 2 fans on my previous 2 feet setup with 2x55w blasting it 10 hours a day. I got a temperature of 27 +/- throughout photolight period. On one of the days 1 fan stopped working but the temperature is still the same.

I would recommend getting just 1 first. If the tempeature is still too high then you might either considering adding one more, or relook at where you situate your tank.

Sometimes it depends on the area your tank is situated in as well.

BTW, I on it 24 hours a day.

hmm........ how low do u want the temperture?

I took out i of my CPU fan and insert 12v batteries. And till now 24 hours passed, the temperture drop from 29 to 26, and it keep dropping every hours.

Why not try out 1 1st, then we see how it go.

Here's a site with a good write up to go about doing it:

I would recommend this fan set sold at KF. I do not know if other vendors retail it but it's all modded up and you just need to plug and play. It's relatively cheaper and apparently you can replace the fan easily.

Where are the fans? U mean the fans are housed in the black compartment in the middle? Can't be right... then they will be blowing the wrong side...
