very nice for first timer!..
but have to give you some advice. 1) plant your hair grass 1 or 2 grass at 1 time, not in bunches like what you did. 2) trim away those melting or brown hair grass. 3) i dun think your that pot of hair grass will survive long.. best is to plant it in the soil. my 2cents. |

yes, what i mean is only 1 or 2 stalk of hair grass planted at 1 times. if you have noticed, you planted your hair grass in bunches of like 10 - 20 staks of hair grass. the hair grass will not turn out healthily.

Yea, and adding to what evo and plausible bro said, your dwarf hairgrass doesn't seem very much inserted into the gravel, would really recommend to take them out and plant by 1 - 2 individual plantlets and try to insert them slightly deeper into the gravel. Effects wld be better and definitely prevent the plant from rotting instead.

The 3 young man here have given you v good advice.
I do like the overall feel of your tank, you can consider tall Hairgrass at the back if you wants it be have a more simple kinda feel. Otherwise, you can consider some Blyxa japonica and/or Echinodorus tenellus as midground; Cyperus helferi or Cryptocoryne balansae as background. Echinodorus tenellus http://www.zlp.ks.edu.tw/nature/images/aq-p/aqp158.jpg Blyxa japonica: http://www.plantacquari.it/pianta_da_id.asp?id=92 Cyperus helferi: http://www.plantacquari.it/pianta_da_id.asp?id=100 Cryptocoryne balansae http://www.aquarium-wasserpflanzen.d...e-balansae.jpg My personal preference would be Cyperus helferi. |
