Default Sump Tank for Marine

Does the glass thickness of a sump tank for a marine setup have to be >10mm or even more?
Considering the fact that mass of water (e.g 3ft or 4ft of saltwater) gushing down into the sump with partitions and for the very same reason why most main tank (3ft, 4ft or more) is 10mm thinkness or greater.

For sump tank, normal is 6 ~8mm only.

To add also the sump tank also has partitions which holds up the tank and reinforce further.

Just wondering what is the life span of a sump tank? Is there a need to redo silicon after 3~4yrs usage?

The safer and less costly way is to have a 8mm base and 6mm sides ... How big do u intend to do the sump ?

judging by your statement, i reckon the tankmaker suggested u have >10mm glass sump tank?
as with other bros, i dun think sump tank require high thickness. partly becos the water vol is not high, and also the partitions serves as additional reinforcements.
