Leave the moulted shell for the cray to eat. It should be sufficient calcium for it.

read from the web
young cray moult from days to weeks
adult could be once every year
the older the cray, the longer they moult

as for tell tale sign, from my experience
they eat a lot lesser

There are posts about signs of moulting in the last editions of the thread. One of it is over here:

At this point of time, perhaps moulting is not so likely, since it is already of a good size, unless the signs of moulting are already showing:

1. Crack and protrusion in the shell between the carapace and the tail
2. Colouration changes in the shell
3. Tendency to hide most of the time
4. Tendency to not feed

If this tank is the only one at a relatively lower temperature, you can leave it there first until a better environment can be located.

Unhappy Problem

ammonia and nitrite both app 0.5
using OHF, 1 layer, sponge filter only

any ways to rectify this problem?
thought of adding a lot of hornwort but my tank got zero light
is it okay? will the cray snap all up into pieces?

does adding ceramic ring help?

although my filter has high flow rate, there are still a lot of shit

thanks a million

Well the traditional way is do water changes. You might want to clean the sponge of your filter regularly too. You can use water conditioners like Seachem Prime to remove the ammonia and nitrite if you think it is above the tolerable limits
