Default this type of bulb for planted tank?

will this type of bulb be better for planted tank than ordinary flourescent bulb.
the l;abel says 18 watt power consumption but output is 100 watts.

This is also a PL tube with built in ballast. Output 100w is compared against the incandescent bulb not to FL or PL.

Notice that on the bulb it has 3 tubes that is why brighter, but in terms of watt per gallon it is still a 18w tube.

thanks! so it produces same brightness as same rated flouresent light?

Yes in term of wpg, PL is also known as compact "flourescent", compact as in smaller/shorter due to the looping of the tube.

No prob, I also intend to use such tube for modification to the 3ft Boyu casing as it can't accommodate even 2x36 PL tube.
