So does Mao Ze Dong, Deng Xiao Ping.

Seriously, I think ppl put too much focus on the smoking shit.
Not smoking means have higher standard?
So murderers, rapists and robbers etc all must be smokers.
Non-smokers are on a higher moral ground, dun do anything criminal one.

The SDP first proposed the idea of having a retrenchment benefits scheme back in the 2011 GE and then in our RESTART programme in the last GE.
(http://yoursdp.org/…/sdp_proposes_re...015-02-10-5954) PAP MPs are now beginning to say the same thing.
In the past, whether it is employing Singaporeans first, putting in place a minimum wage scheme, or adopting a universal healthcare system the SDP has been pushing
the government towards policies that benefit ordinary Singaporeans. We will do more of this in Parliament. ‪#‎NowIsTheTime‬

DLs' Caring Community (Dedicated Locals), was formed by Mr Desmond Lim and supported by a group of dedicated locals, who wanted to provide communal services to the unfortunates and assist to improvise citizens's welfare and essential needs to improve the living standards of the neglected..
It was established since 2011, as initiative group under the umbrella of
Singapore Democratic Alliance-Singapore Justice Party (SDA-SJP)and it was named as "Sinpo" and later was renamed as DLs' Caring Community in 2nd May 2013, and continue to function as a charity arm of the party.
Since our establishment in 2011 we have actively participated in:
(i) Helping students from impoverished families complete their studies smoothly through financial funding;
(ii) Collecting used laptops to have them repaired and donated to Bhutan kids;
(iii) Donating dry ration, food ration and rice etc to various charity organisations and individuals over the years;
(iv) Raising funds to rebuild homes in Philippines Typhoon Haiyan Relief;
(v) Sponsoring 100 gas cylinders to the flood victims in Kelantan and rebuild the school library;
(vi) Arranging for legal aid for destitute families in need; and
(vii) Collaborating with various organisations to actively identify and distribute lunches as well as organizing outings for the elderly citizens.
The list is not exhaustive; these are valuable takeaways from having spent time meaningfully, we are satisfied of what have achieved and what we have done for others so far, and will continue to help others.
What people need are pairs of listening ears and those who will find means to better their lives - no matter how small the changes may be. Big changes always start from small steps.
With that, we leave you with a meaningful quote by an established English writer, Douglas Noel Adams, who said this, "To give real service you must add something which cannot be bought or measured with money, and that is sincerity and integrity."
DLs' Caring Community was incorporated in 31st March 2015 with Registrar of Society, Singapore as an independent charity entity, and the management and committee members has strongly pledged affiliated to SDA-SJP.
The management and committee members as follow;
President : Desmond Lim Bak Chuan
Secretary : Ernest Pak
Treasurer : Harminder Pal Singh
Assist Treasurer : Jaclyn Teo
Committee members:
Sunny Wong Way Wei
Ong Teik Seng
Lim Kim Soon
Rudy Rohaine
Kelvin Ong
Shaul Heyman Tho
Aminnuddin Bin Amin
Currently, we are providing free daily lunch boxes to 400 senior folks and needy families in the North East constituencies.
We hope we can reach out 1000 senior folks and needy families before 31st March 2016.
We are looking forward for your kind support and be part of our volunteers.
With Best Regard
Desmond Lim Bak Chuan
Founding President
