Did TPL's Supporter Defame WP Chief LTK?
http://www.temasekreview.com/2011/05...ow-thia-kiang/
Controversial PAP MP Tin Pei Ling appeared to be courting trouble again for condoning potentially defamatory comments being posted on her Facebook wall by her fanatical supporters, such as one using the moniker ‘Valencia Orange’ whose writing style bears some similarities to that of YPAP leader and new citizen from India Sinha Shekhar. In a comment posted on Ms Tin’s Facebook a few days ago, ‘Valencia Orange’ appeared to insinuate that WP Chief Low Thia Kiang is a boss of a mafia gang: Though no names were mentioned, it is pretty obvious who ‘Valencia Orange’ was referring to. ‘Valencia Orange’s ferocious attacks on the opposition including calling their supporters ‘DOGS’ prompted even Ms Tin’s supporters to call on her to remove his offensive, inflammatory and defamatory comments: After pretending to ‘listen’ to feedback from her ‘fans’, Ms Tin finally decides to ‘let things be’ by allowing the inflammatory comments to remain: Is Ms Tin condoning and tacitly endorsing her supporter’s unwarranted attack on Mr Low Thia Kiang? According to a lawyer we spoke to, the statement made by ‘Valencia Orange’ could be tantamount to ‘criminal defamation’ as Mr Low Thia Kiang is a well-known public figure and an elected MP of Aljunied GRC. WP supporters may like to lodge a police report against ‘Valencia Orange’ who has been attacking Workers’ Party relentlessly on social media. |

That would spell the end of "freedom of speech" in the social medias.
In some forums you see worst postings against PAP members but nothing have happened (or nothing happened as yet??) So I believe the Opposition should just take "an open view" on all these postings. IMHO |
