If I'm not wrong, their consumed for their roe during Chinese New Year.

Actually the chinese words' hanyu pinyin is "Bai Du" not "Bai tu". Like what kalib says its a fish eaten during chinese new year for its roe. And its meat becomes sweeter during this period too. YUMMY!

Hi bro, in mandrin they call it 白肚鱼(White-spotted Spinefoot), generally called rabbitfish. English scientific name (Siganus Canaliculatus). It hard to rear in captivity.
