Can arowana bond with us?
Hi, i bought 2 new arowanas about 2 months back. One was a little scared when I go close and the other wasn't. Now the one that was scared got slightly better but the other one suddenly become scared when I go near. The one that got scared is placed at the bottom tank, feet level. Could that be the cause?
I was wondering if arowana would recognize us? Would they be more comfortable when we go closer to them after a while? Could we make them less scared of us? Some tends to be more skittish than the rest? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

bro, i bagged my XB named "bullet head" (BH) some 3.5 years back when it was barely 3"
Now, BH is more than 21" & fat. It's very naughty & fierce. Literally, biting my hands during wc. Chase me from left to right whenever I walk past its tank. Oops! That brings so much joy both to BH & I |

My girl knows me, she even swims up to my hand sometimes...I think they definitely bond with the person that feeds them and who they see all the time.

Yes you're right some aros are just more skittish and timid than others. It usually gets better with age and once it gets accustomed to its surroundings. Do try to avoid sudden movements near the tank as it might scare them.
It's quite an interesting process where you learn more about the aros by watching them and at the same they are also learning more about you. |
