yes.. the ranchu on my avatar is the daddy.. bought it cheap.. my kids chose it.. 7.5 dollars.. i just wanted to buy something for the tank and they chose ranchu.. due to his head quite fat i guess kind of cute thou...

ya...experience tells that feeding pellets at young age may limit the headgrowth.....so from hatch til 1.5-2 mths no pellets....bbs, daphania, FBW, tubifex if u dare....after headgrowth is established then feed pellets, morning and evening still FBW...

just sharing from experience...results from individuals may differ...:

congrats! they will rest for like 2-3 days while consuming the egg sac...so feed on the 3rd to 4th days when u can see them swimming around....

prepare decholorinated water and WC 50% daily when u start feeding or when u see the water fouling....

btw is the water dirty, cloudy due to unhatched eggs? if yes, must WC and remove the unhatched eggs and egg shell...

Hi bros, just bought 2 ranchus on tuesday, and it lay eggs just now ! Anymore tip other than mention above ? 😃 feeling eggcited.

there are fry lying on my plants where there's many unhatched eggs.. my water is still clean and clear..

Hahaha, what tank size are you using now ? My tank dont have plants , so all the egg at the bottom of the tank. Just added methalye blue into the tank. Is your egg yellowish in colour also ?

Bro i think you no need to buy more ranchus already , just concentrade your effort in taking care of the fries~ maybe you can teach your how to feed all that, share the load with you . Hahaha
