Dishearten, i shall not.
Was a bit initially though BUT after seeing it eating the MP yesterday.. It was grreeeeedyyy.. I like!! Finally!!! Definitely worth the worry and wait.. Hahaha.. Fat fat already. Just the tummy la. Glad to know that its not the plj that's affecting its eating ability. Prolly just new environment. Probable triggers that got it's appetite going: - upgraded bigger tank - Adding mid-dwelling fishes - Attaching the cannister to the ohf for better filtration - Most imptly it was starving by then Thanks a lot all, for the motivation. Time to see how fast it grows now. |

Thanks a lot guys.
My tank is the standard 3ft tank. Its for a start since the aro is still very small. Previously it was in the temporary standard 2ft tank. Water regime is 10% every 3-4 days. Usually right after feeding. Will remove the uneaten food 20mins after feeding. Here's a pic of the tank: Just a qtn. Currently i have eheim 2215 into OHF. The flow not too strong. Will upgrading to a 2217 be okay. Or will it be too strong on a 3ft. But its gonna be attached to the ohf though. So part of the flow rate will be reduced due to the filter sponge and all. Cannister to ohf: |

Bro, try 20 to 30% please a good water conditioner into the tank, mix it well before topping up.
Try not to wc immediately after feeding. |

So 20-30% every 3-4 days? |

Stick to your current canister lah.
2217 is also not much better ~ I am using 2217 for my 2 ft attached to ohf, I rather you get a $18 dolphin powerhead connect to your ohf, its alot stronger (not saying 2217 is lousy but just underpowered for monster fishes). don't spend the money first. since your WC regime is quite consistent, shouldn't be an issue. Months later when your fish outgrow your tank then change everything. |
