Arowanas and Current
I'm curious, do arowanas like current?
Their habitat in the wild, is it in fast moving waters or do they live in calm water? do they come from shallow or deep water? wish i could go to see their habitat in the wild I removed the wavemaker from my aro pair and moved it to another comm. I'm curious what would be the effect on the pair without the wavemaker blowing at them. any observations regarding current and aros? |

My RTG seems to enjoy the current.

my own experience from keeping rtg is they like little to mild current. not too strong current that pushes them and cant swim properly

For me , I like to give my red a strong current as this allow me to pump it up faster. Swim more = more energy used = very fast hungry

I think it is important to make the distinction between calm water and stagnant water. Certainly the natural habitat of the Asian arowana would be calm rivers...but calm rivers still have currents which can be quite strong.
My red liked to park itself in front of the wavemaker and 'surf'. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
