Let us watch whether MiW will come up with new policy to save CDG. Many PH drivers from early 20s to 50s so will miw devise a "gd" policy? Or will they just let it be and the biggest winner will be Grab, leaving them to monopolise the mkt?. |

Uber and NTUC kena bashed again.
GRAB got approval for a US700mil debt facilities to create the largest car rental fleet in SE Asia by 4th quarter of 2018. Together in partnership with SMRT too allowing exclusive access to all smrt's taxi and it fleet of private car rental mgmt capabilities along with it network of taxis and Strides private cars. Really tok gong. I remembered early this year Temasek bought over SMRT for just over 1.1.billions with certain terms and conditions. Not sure SMrT got subsequently delisted or not but i guessed it does, make more sense to purchase even with the above news. Before the purchase, it is also a big investor pf Grab too.....and now this came out. Really sibei ho!!! Got privy to insider news from everywhere. How I wish that i have tgis kind of kangtao too. |

ComfortDelGro to acquire 51% stake in Uber’s car rental subsidiary in Singapore for S$642mil
SINGAPORE: Taxi operator ComfortDelGro and Uber announced on Friday (Dec 8) that they have entered into a strategic agreement to form a joint venture. Under the agreement, which is subject to regulatory approval, ComfortDelGro will acquire a 51 per cent stake in Uber’s wholly-owned car rental subsidiary in Singapore, Lion City Holdings, the two parties said in a joint media release. The latter, in turn, operates Lion City Rentals (LCR) which has a fleet of about 14,000 vehicles. Uber will retain the remaining 49 per cent. Valued at about S$642 million, with a cash consideration of S$295 million, it ranks as ComfortDelGro’s single largest deal to-date. The transaction is expected to result in increased demand for both private hire and taxi drivers as well as increased choice, shorter waiting times, and greater reliability for consumers, the release said. The two companies are also finalising additional partnership opportunities and will make further announcements in the upcoming months. https://www.channelnewsasia.com/news...rental-9482028 |
