Cost of 3ft Planted setup
I have a 3ft tank and wondering how much budget should I set aside for all the necessary equipment to set up a planted tank. Please advise.

co2 +solenoid - 170+ T5 lights - 110 fan - 20+ (thinking about chiller?, then more $$$$$) clay from Ocean Free - 40+ ( this could significantly increase if you are thinking of using ADA or GEX kind of soil) Cannister filter - about 80+ (again this could significantly increased if you are think along the line of Eheim) Then you have a bunch of plants and fertilizers which could set you back about 80 bucks for a start |

most likely it will cost you more than a thousand, once you get hooked, you will start getting all those high tech equiments as well as expensive plants and fishes.
good luck |

But I agree, if you're really into it, you can spend a lot of money on this hobby in the long run. I try not to go C328 as much as possible. Whenever I go, sure will see something that makes me think, "This is interesting, I think I can use this..." |

I have lost track of how much I have spent. But for a start, it can range from $500 to $1000, depending if you intend to go branded or normal.

Browse around the forum to get a feel on how bros here does there setup, low-tech or high-tech setup.. On the other hand, make a trip down to Nature Aquarium in Thomson Area or Biotope in Ang Mo Kio to get a real taste of what we mean by high-tech setup and chat with the bosses, they should be able to advice you more on the budgets on the necessary equipments.. Hope to get to see your setup in the near future soon.. Cheers |
