then the quality of your spawn will be considered as not optimal.

perhaps firstly you can check if your guppies are males and females,
and they are not "she-males", as there are many cases of such which are infertile.

If they are properly sexed, are they normal/ribbon/swallow guppies?
Swallow males are unable to hit(meaning to fertilise), ribbon males have low chances and tend to be able to hit females when they are young when their gonopodium(the elongated part) has yet to develop fully.

Thirdly, are your fishes healthy?
Sunken belly, clamped fins, white spots, fin rots?

Lastly, hit females need to have ard 2-4 weeks to drop. How long have you keep them? And virgin females take a longer time.

cheers and enjoy the hobby, hope this helps.

thanks for sharing such information bro Fire87.

few questions:
1) any way to determine if the guppy is a "she-male"?
2) in your opinion, wats the best combi to obtain high quality spawn?
3) roughly how long for virgin female to be hit?

usually all the while when they are still growing they look female, but out of sudden in the last minute they become male....usually their coloring and finnage not as good.
2) in your opinion, wats the best combi to obtain high quality spawn?
select ur best male and best female
