K1 media primary purpose is to house BBs to remove Ammonia and Nitrite through Nitrification and proven as just another effective media. It does not remove Nitrate.

Yes Bro, K1 is an effective media once the BBs has established within the K1 media. As it is designed to be moving using aeration, in the event of a bacteria bloom or power outage. With an ACDC pump, you continue to have oxygen and running filtration to your main tank..

Insightful, didn't occur to me.

My father's pond uses K1 last time. I didn't know K1 then (about 5 years ago, I haven started this hobby), we probably discarded about 200 litres/3ft tank of it. What a waste. If I knew, would have saved it!

But 1 question, is there a way to use K1 without making it unsightly? What do you bros do?

Thanks in advance.
