Default 5ft tank with 5 rays and 1 african arowana.. Is it bioload?

Hi all

Currently, I have 3 rays and 1 african arowana in a 5x2x2 sump cabinet tank. I will be adding another two rays in 2-3 days time. I am listing the size of my ray and african arowana below for better understanding. I would like to know if it will bioload and can I actually add another arowana?

Present tankmates

1. 4 inches motoro ray

2. 6 inches SP ray

3. 12 inches otorogon SP ray

4. 6 inches african arowana

Additional tankmates in 2-3days time

1. 14 inches MM ray

2. 16 inches Henlei SP ray

Thanks and regards
Koolman

i'm abit worried on the size difference of the current tankmate..not sure about otorrongo..but my current expericene with MM, they tend to be a bit agressive.. those less than 10 inch are at risk of being eaten or bitten to death

what are the chances that the MM will eaten or bitten the ray.. I am buying both ray at a discount rate.. Hope that they wont fight or I will have to sell some away..

Given my tank space, I dont think that I could add a caninster and worst of all, my CO disallow OHF as I have bad encounter with OHF on our ex houses.. Any more suggestion.. What abt an internal filtration?

Cheers

i'm not able to answer this question bro..as diff fish diff temperament.. some 100 % ..some only when they hungry.. 14" ray can easily wallop the 6" african aro and also fully covered the 6" ray and kill it. The risk is there, only time will tell if it will happen bro..

Yes, your bioload is high but if you have enough media and change water twice per week, should be ok.

I used to keep 5 pcs of 8 to 9 inches PDR, 1 Xback and 1 Tig in a 3.5X2.5X2.5 ft cabinet tank with sump, change water twice a week about 20% each time, I can maintain zero ammonia and rays are ok.

I suggest you buy a test kit to check for ammonia and if you can keep it at lower than 0.5ppm, best if zero, it should be ok. You should monitor closely if you want to continue to keep those fishes listed in the same tank in the long run.
