Default Live Rocks

When do i introduce live rocks in my tank? Immediately during cycling, or few
days into the cycling period?

I'm setting up a new 2ft marine tank, with boyu protein skimmer and a canister filter.

Thanks.

The liverocks can be introduced immediately. There will be some die-offs from the rocks which would help to start the cycling.

U using dead rock? to recycle? or to buffer ph?

Main thing abt recycling is to let bacteria built up, unless those rock r in the process of dying...if not dun see it helping to recycle tank. or have u introduce something else to turn ON the recycling mode?

Bro.. I saw a hydrometer in your tank. Better to remove during cycling. U dun want to see any chemical leaks if the glass breaks...

I believe u are using those floating hydrometer that can measure the temperature too. If the glass breaks the chemical inside the thermometer will leak into the tank.

Hmmm...will it break so easily? I hope not!

Today, the water looks much clearer. I have installed my skimmer (switched off) and re-arranged the rocks. Been dosing the tank with BB. The rocks seems ok, not emitting any foul smell. I read that some have experienced live rock emitting foul smell after they died.
