Default Media for canister

First time using canister.
Any suggestion on what medias to use. Besides ceramic rings and bio balls.

More on wool, foam etc.

Do they sell those that fit exactly on the canister i.e. round type or must i cut to shape myself.

Thanks for any feedback

dun use bio balls in canister filter as they take up lots of space.

commonly used bio media like mentioned above are good ceremic rings, biohome and eheim substrate.

normally the wool, sponge filter can be bought in correct size, depending on your brand of canister filter.

Lousy CR, Use for 1 month, water cloudy for 1 month. I am not pushing for more expensive product, but I personally got use this cheap CR before. Water refuses to clear up no matter how many WC or how many good wool I use. After i take that CR out, water clears up in hours.
Good CR, Use for 1 day, Water clear from then.
