3ft tank malawi tank recommandation
Hi guys,
i am new to Malawi cichlids, and will like to start a tank. currently my existing set up which i will like to convert is : Sudo river rand : 1200L/hour canister filter May i know if the fitler is sufficent and if the sand is suitable? may i also enquire what fishes are recommanded to be kept tog? (will like to have colours such as red, blue and yellow) thanks! |

I think I read it somewhere it's best to have 6X more than you tank capacity....example...if you tank is 3ft, so it should be around 140 litres, so 140 X 6 = 840 litres. Hence your filter 1200 l/hr should be enough. However, it also depends much on yr feeding schedules as well as your number of fishes. Malawi cichlids are very restless = eat a lot = poop a lot. IMO. |

Seems like my tank is good to go. Any recommanded species to keep? (something which doesnt exceed like 4inches, so i can keep ard 8 pieces tog in my 3ft)
i am looking at the peacock. they looks amazing and hyper active. Where can i get good fishes? |

u can keep peacocks and hap
these are more peaceful than mbunas but get bigger than 4inches and also avoid mixing females so the aggression is lessen. some smaller ones: yellow peacock - 4-5 inch sulphur head peacock 4 inch deep water hap - 6inch Zebra obq hap (victorian) - 5inch yellow lab (peaceful mbuna) - 4-5 inch blockhead (congo river) - 4inch these are the smaller ones i can think of |

flame red peacock nvr heard of...
Nagara flame tail peacock yes! 3ft tank - max 6 pieces, pecocks grows quite large.... |
