Default Re-do the pipe

Dear bro,
Need some advise from experience bro here.
I just got my new tank not long ago, and the tank return pipe was fix as a "L" shape, as such the return water will flow on the top part of the tank.
As the tank is for pleco keeping, I would like to re-arrange the pipe, so that the return water will just blow/flow downward, as such able to push all the dirt to the underflow.
Any bro can advise how can I do tat?
Thanks

Remove the L-pipe, bring to hardware store, tell them what you need and they will be able to help you. Also remember to measure the height of your tank so they know how long the down pipe will be.

Don't forget to drill the hole for the new pipe to break siphon in case backflow and flood the sump.

yup, this is very important. check your existing pipe whether got a small hole near the top of the water or not, if not you need to drill a small hole (just slightly underneath the water surface), this hole will stop water flowing back into the sump when you off the pump. or else the water from the main tank will flow back under the end of the pipe and overflow your sump
