Benching in - 2 Sep (Fri) 7 - 9pm
Awards presentation - 4 Sep (Sun) 5pm
Benching out - 4 Sep (Sun) 6pm

4 feet by 2 feet tables are available for reservation by BCS members only at the Betta Show on a first-come-first-allocated basis for sale of bettas at S$30 per table. Please PM Edwin for booking and queries.

Clarification of form and finnage classes: The bettas would be judged based solely on their form and finnage, with no consideration whatsoever to their colours. Bettas that would show well in this class would be those with extra-ordinary finnage and form.

Can I check with you on what does extra-ordinary finnage? Does a plakat crown count as extra-ordinary? If yes, which class can i enter it?

It is diffcult to say since it really depends on the quality of the crown plakat. Any pics to help the process?

This fish would not do well in any category mainly because the extensions on the caudal do not match those on the dorsal and anal. Hence, it is not symmetrical. Sorry.

ehh... isn't that the distinctive trait of plakat cts? Crownmoons as they are sometimes called do not have any ct traits on the caudal....

Thanks for the reply.

The comp does not cater for this chap... he may have "extra-ordinary" finnage to me. but he is neither here nor there according to the standards and i understand that.

In that case, he will be in my home staying in his bungalow drinking ketapang juice and producing more offsprings.

Cheers.

I am afraid that crown moons would not do very well in competitions unless they get their own separate category. This is because in competitions, a lack of similarity amongst the fins is a big disadvantage.

Incidentally, in the halfmoon categories, slight extensions are not penalised so long as the length of the extensions is the same amongst all the fins.

Deadline for submission of entries extended to 27 Aug 05.

Reminder: In accordance with IBC guidelines, participants are strongly encouraged to exhibiting fish which they had bred. However, entries exhibited under the breeder's name (first) then followed by the exhibitor's name (second) are allowed.
