Actually I thought that my colon will be totally cleaned out but the nurse told me that there was still some stool in colon as can be seen in the colon photos here (slight yellowish color) but did not affect the procedure.

Dragged my wife to get her colonoscopy done on Friday. She has a chronic stomach ache.
She is a damn stubborn woman and usually compromising on the doctor's instructions. So was quite worried for her. Deliberately came home late from dinner and only started drinking the 4 litres at around 9pm. 'yucks yucks KPKB etc.' I suspect she poured some away. Sigh! like small kid. Luckily the laxative worked. Same thing I had to queue for her while she did a last bomb run. Procedure was at 10am but was doc was delayed. Done by 1.30pm,result all clear from the nurse. Couple of weeks time go back see what the doc want to do next. By the way the anesthetics didn't work on her so she was awake the whole time. Finally knocked out when we got home after lunch. |

We went to SGH too. For the preparation part, it also depend on individual's digestive rate. My aunt also went a couple of years ago. Followed the instructions exactly, but still got a lot of stuff stuck inside.

I have done colonoscopy several times and the throat one (without sedation) once every 5 years. I also underwent capsulnoscopy (not sure of spelling) plus twice when a white plaster-of-paris like liquid was injected into my stomach to capture 3-D images of my system.
I colonoscopy only setback is that there was a lot of gas after the scope. Thanks for sharing! |
