The fertilization of eggs occur in less than 10 seconds...that is to say if the milt(sperm) does not hit the eggs within that 10 secs, chances of fertilization diminished.

Your second query is too vague to respond to The idea of being a hobbyist is to tinker and be brave to try fish keeping and learn along the way...trying to hope for a perfect scenario and perfect outcome is not fishkeeping...more liken to keeping stamps, dolls or whatever out there that can be bought off the shelve.

We fishkeepers are fireman, doctor, engineer and carpenter all mixed into one...sometimes fish sick or need built new shelve, lay water pipe and sometimes we play fireman on rescue mission
