Default HELP id red aro

Hi everyone,

I am buying a 2-3year old red arowana. I am new so I am scared I might buy a wrong one or even not a red aro.

Any pointers in confirming it is a red arowana?

I have a picture but can not post it here. If anyone can teach me that will be great.

Thanks in advance.

U need to see the colour of the real fish, if not then video. Base on photo not safe, some may be colour edited.
If seeing the real fish, the scale is red even under white light, likely you won't go wrong.
Secondly, is it tagged with cert?
Red aro require grooming skill and technic. To sustain the redness also not easy.
Do some readup here, lots of info can be found.
Lastly, I have not kept red aro before, all the above is I learned from here.

If u are new, do you know there are different grade for red aro?i hope you know cos only grade 1 aro comes with cert and chips. Some adult aro may also have "2nd hand chip" so beware on this.. By the way where is the aro u going to buy? If its from a reputated farm or LFS then i think it shld be ok..

IMO, if u get young red without any colour yet get from reputable source or get one with cert which I usually not so bothered. Therefore I still prefer going to reputable source. With very and tag with cert and fanciful name doesn’t mean ur red going to be red. Claiming it’s indo or Kalimantan red doesn’t make it a good red either.

If not just save abit more money and get 1 red that is already red. Or at least start to have its scale frame colours developing.

It looks like a red.. with colours on cheeks.. probably not showing actual colour in new tank. Its probably not a well tanned red.

Give it a week or 2 to settle .. the colour would return.

Is a red Aro base on the cheek but better be sure by confirming with the seller. Any cert for the fish?
To be honest, the fish doesn't appeal to me. By two years, the colour should be out especially the scales even though some bro mentioned it didn't tan and it also plj.
