Default Java fern keep dying

hi Bro

My java fern keep dying after few weeks. The leaves turn black or brown and rot away. any advise? thanks

CO2 (if any):
Gravel:
Base fert:
Liquid Fertilizer:

hmmm java fern is one of the most hardly moss around and needs little extra care. maybe you could share with us more information esp your light settings.

Yar, heard that java fern is one of the more hardy plant to keep. There must be some problem with your tank.

generally got fish in the tank,using matured filter n reasonable lighting shouldn't have probs... unless zero nutrients n too strong light...only possiblilty that such a plant could waste away....

High chance of parasite attack or plant desease if water condition is very poor. (e.g high ammonia, no bacts. to nutrify it)

Do you have a fan for the tank? You need to bring down the temperature.

Bro, you mean parasite will attack the plants too?? Thought they only cause problem to the fishes.

Tanks Spec
5ftx2ftx2ft tank... 4x36Watt light.. but usually on 2 light for 6 to 8 hrs..
I had nana but nana seem ok . only java fern and another type of very big fern start to turn black and rot away...

WC once a week ..almost 60%


Use root monster plus other liquid based ferts ..flourish, Potassium, Nitrogen, iron.. dose every 3 days

got discus, cardinal, neon, galaxism cory and guppies
