Shrimp Setup at Balcony
Hi, im thinking of setting up a CRS tank. From the information that i read in this forum, it is a "must" to have a chiller for a successful CRS tank. Currently, i have a few venues in my house that can position the tank and one of them is at the balcony. Even though my balcony is not directly facing the sun, it can get pretty hot. Can the chiller sufficiently keep the temp between 25-27 for the CRS. I'm thinking of a 2 ft tank with EHEIM 2213 and resun cl280 or
hailea 150A? thanks |

Chiller whether a must is very subjective. There are bro here breeding successfully without needing a chiller. For me I'm using a chiller.
Chiller definitely can keep your temperature 25 and below. for 2ft tank think hailea 150A will do a decent job. |

Have not heard of crs breeding without any form cooling. Since u mention the balcony can be hot at times, this might put great stress on your chiller, therefore would not suggest u put in balcony.

to hv a peace of mind. it better to hv a chiller. it wont cost much if u use a external probe.

Your chiller will be able to handle the water within the required temperature, no prob. It will kick in more often if your balcony is hotter, but i dun think it is going to cost you more than a PRL per month.

I'm intending to try CRS breeding without a chiller. Hopefully got some result to share once I start.
