ASUS router will auto switch to AP mode.
Router mode will clash with ONR and won’t work
I’m using AC68U and 56U.

To be more specific

Scenario 1
If your setting is ONT -> ASUS -> MioTV
Under this condition, you will need to configure your ASUS to use the singtel-miotv/singtel-others profile

Scenario 2
If you setting is ONR -> ASUS -> miotv
Under this condition, your ASUS just need to configure to AP mode. No need to configure any profile at all.

Read this for example of ONT with Asus.

elimmel, can say that if ST provide the ONR, any router that user wish to use just set to AP mode will do. No other settings are to be done.

pl correct me if I am wrong ;

the meshes are all acting as AP for the singtel modem, and the ONR is the router.
So if modem change then how do we configure the meshes to sync with the asus modem? and which one does the miotv sync with, just direct connect to the ONR or asus (assuming we can configure the asus as the AP.?

I only know ASUS is plug and play.
Your second sentence here caught my attention.

I'm now using ST's ONT and router, and I've an Asus RT-AC3200 that someone's gifted me, sitting around.

I've been trying to pluck out the courage to switch to the Asus, as I've never actually done such a setup myself. What else should I take note of before I "plug and play"?

No ST TV, don't even have a phone plugged to the digital phone line.

Thanks in advance for any tips. I might make the attempt one of these days.

Modem is still the ONR. ASUS needs to be set as AP mode

Since you already have mesh, then may not be worth the hassle or cost to replace. Unless you need the lan ports from ASUS in your other rooms

See post #92 scenario 1.
Explore the ASUS UI to look for the profile setting.

I’m using ONR so no need to do that.
