Need help to fix reactor

Please advise how to do connection for co2 reactor . Tried connecting co2 to top nipple and attached mini pump to top inlet but dont seem to be working. The bioballs remain at the top and can only see occassional big bubbles escaping from the pump sides. Sorry unable to do attachment of photos of reactor. The reactor in question is the type that has bioballs inside. One inlet at the top n the other inlet at the bottom
