And I worry if I keep on adding bettarelex, active carbon will absorb all and release some poisoneous chemical again after sometime.

But I need advise that should I remove "the carbon filter and add the bettarelex" or "with carbon filter and clear water without bettarelex".

Which will be the better option for my betta?
IMO no point adding anything if you are using activated carbon as a filter medium. Activated carbon is basically charcoal that is extremely porous, thus able to trap and filter out most impurities in water and air. This negates the effect of most conditioners and medicine you add into the tank, even blackwater etc. From what i understand some hobbyist use charcoal filter to also directly remove medication.

Did you know, when you are down with bad diarrhea and mild food poisoning, most doctors prescribe charcoal pills, which are in essence activated carbon, which will bind together the nasty stuffs in your stomach.

After using a couple of times, it seems to be its similar to KTP extract but the funny thing is after 2 days the water becomes clear again. It helps abit with fin/tail rot recovery of one of my bettas. Will cont to try on this piece to determine if it realli do help cure fin rot.
