Are HDB Flats Over Supplied?

In the last few years, HDB has been releasing thousands of BTO yearly. Initial years after GE2011, it was to help first timers get a flat.

But the continued release of BTO flats seems to indicate a over supply. Many resale flats flooded the market, esp where upgraders needs to sell their current flat.

Today, the minister announced with immediate effect (didn't SOMEONE said gov announced in advance for ppl to make adjustments or whatever... how come now IMMEDIATE policy?), divorced couples can buy new flats without needing to wait 3 years.

Single can buy resale hdb of any size bo? Can they approve that by law right away?

I meant own private and buy hdb resale at same time.

They should also allow divorced to buy new HDB after selling their private due to the split, without the waiting period

Seems Luke they have many balance flats. Good for divorced ppl. Can get a new place soon after.

Already late. Last time buy hdb first, after that can buy private. Many of my friends have that. Only i miss the boat.

They might remove this restriction if there is truly an oversupply of HDB flats........
