Room temperture will suffice for this species. Neutral to slightly alkaline pH is okay, but try not to have acidic pH, since the shell of the crayfishes contain calcium carbonate, which is not inert to acids. Other water conditions are similar to fishes, try to have zero ammonia, zero nitrite and as low as possible for nitrates. Water parameter testing is not typically required and regular water changes (weekly, bi-weekly or monthly, depending on your diligence) will maintain the water conditions. Salt is not necessary and but can be used to remove external parasites, such as worms which may reside on the shell of the crayfishes, as a salt bath/dip. A couple of minutes will do. |

last weekend i go C328 again and so far all the crays i see are male. small ones i might be wrong but the medium ones confirm are male....... difficult to get female to breed...................... my tank coloration is due to the wood i bought.....did not submerge them in water to get rid of the color..............haizzzz but now i know newly bought wood need to submerge in water a few days before putting it in the tank...... my blue still fighting with my orange everyday and i think the orange manage to twist one of its legs and now its in an awkward shape................ |
