Default Tangayika Mix

Hi all, i currently have some tropheus in my tank, am curious what other tangs will be good tankmates for them? which they can share the same type of diets and use to the same living environment . Thanks

Hi Gary I have moved your thread to the appropriate section. Enjoy!

I believe for tropheus would be more tropheus. If you really want others would be Petrochromis, Tangan goby cichlids, or Simochromis etc.

These fishes have similar diet to tropheus which makes feeding easier.

Better keep all trophs, already alot choices to choose from, but if really dun want get petro

for tropheus tankmates, i would suggest something that is bold enough to stand on it's own and go for food and stand their ground. as the trophs are in a school, they tend to be intimidating for many fishes, thus finding it difficult to get food, eventually starving slowly.
and their dietary requirement would mean any fish added has to take on the vegetarian diet of the trophs as a staple diet. which might pose an issue.
so in a tank environment, i think not many actually comm them with other tangans. but it is not impossible.
