Newbie going into SVR
Been reading alot about goldfish and recently got the goldfish bug and wanted to keep it in my next setup.
planning to get a 322' tank for them. nd need some advice on it. will be getting about 9 of them and filtration wise will be tank to sump to ohf, is it feasible? getting a 3000l/hr pump to pump water from sump to ohf Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk |

Welcome to goldfish keeping bro FD IMHO, 9 pieces is too much for the tank. Even though they could be smaller now but when they grow you need to upgrade the tank size again. Make sure the OHF doesn't create strong current for your goldfishes else you will put them under extreme stress. Just my 2 cents. Other more experienced bros here can help you more on this |

what's the stocking number I should be looking at? I don't trust the fish per 10-20gallon rule

If you don't believe the recommendation guide then just keep whatever number you like

it's not that I don't believe, but for fishes, I'd rather trust the floor area.
imagine this, you have a bottom dweller and you have a 1x1x30ft tank, volume wise, it's definitely enough, but the floor area is just cruel, agree? Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk |

how freq you intent to change water and how much each time?
the frequency of feeding plays a big part too. 322 is definitely too small to house 9 pcs. 5 at the very most if you want them to grow to its fullest potential. |

I'm planning to give for 50% weekly if possible, but if condition is bad, I'll do biweekly change.
another question, does height of tank have any impact on gf keeping? Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk |

50% water change weekly is definitely not enough if you do heavy feeding.

I'm planning on light feeding 3 times daily at juvenile, with a timer, reduce to twice after it's bigger few months later. saw this article on feeding at 10% of their weight
