Looks to me base on colour/markings, and eyes, a Florida gar. My old alligator had very big eyes compare to head size with no thick line running down the full length of its body. Plus alligators have a 'break' in its tail, not a perfect fan. Could be wrong through, need a another photo to confirm.

not a gd shot but my old alligator..

Just to share, a new member in my tank. Added only a few days ago.
