Default Help with filter for 2ft planted tank

Hi, i currently have an internal filter which i find a hassle to clean. Is there any particular internal filter that is easier to clean than the rest? Dont want CO2 loss, but dont want to spend on external canister filter too.

And if i use a hang on back filter and minimize splashing, will it really minimize CO2 loss to the extent of being insignificant?

Currently have Vallisneria, E.Quad and Limnophilia Heterophylla. Planning to add a bit more plants, even a red one.

actually an internal filter will be sufficient for a 2ft tank

maybe u can define what you mean by 'easy to clean'? most of the time,
its the detachment of the bottom part of the filter.maybe you can elaborate?

be careful of the red plant.it may require some wee CO2 injection and good
lighting

do readup on the plant requirements/demands before commiting to buying any

I have a 2 feet tank. currently using one of those ocean free external hang on filter for 2 feet tank.
personally I prefer external filter. Any type. Internal filter is a hassle to clean, disturbs the inhabitants in the tank and worse of all it takes up space.

External filters are good. But you gota watch the flowrate.

For a 2 feet tank, the range actually are quite limited. Some examples will be
the Atman 3335,Eheim 2213 etc

Hmm...one example is the Rena Internal Filter. Judging from the picture, seems like its double canister allows easier cleaning. But i believe its price is not cheap, might as well buy external canister liao. Aiyo headache...
