I'mma bad person D:
I bought local pet shop bettas in plastic jars. Which means the cruel pet store owners profited from my money. I'm a bad person Y_Y I bought the bettas to rescue them from their small containers, and from being bought by an idiot who doesn't know how to humanely raise a betta or wants to make them fight to the death for fun. When trying to perform my rescue mission I forgot my money makes the pet store owners gain a profit and buy more bettas to sell in their jars with the blue water and gahhhhh whyyy meeeeee?! I HELPED THE EEEVILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!! EEVVVVIIIIIIIIIL!!!!!!! *foams at mouth*
So... maybe if they lose a profit on bettas they won't sell them anymore. Should I... 1) Sneak in like a spy and steal all the bettas and give them a nice home at my house? 2) Protest by writing "ANIMAL ABUSE" on the walls/papers taped on the shelves where the 5-6 bettas are using fake blood or any red ink, and say to the people why you shouldn't buy the bettas? |

Maybe you could like, get a 6ft tank for every betta you see in the shop.
btw, how small are the containers?? Are they really THAT small? |

Wah. hey bro why not think in another point of view? Perhaps the fish store owner dun have enough space? Most of the LFS keeps betta in rather small container, IMO this is due to space constrain or that they are able to make quick sales. But i must say that, most of these betta not very good condition.

IMHO, consider these points from a view of a lfs owner point of view
1) space constrain 2) convenience 3) starting cost when you have hundreds of pieces and limited space, its hard to have that many SU830s and still have frequent WC.And you still have other fishes (goldfish, guppy, aro etc.) if your starting cost is in cents...will you still give your TLC to every piece? business world is $$$. though there are passionate owners its still hard to give a 4star treatment to every single piece. |
