my vatf also very skittish. i find gatf less timid though. my current vatf jumps and dashes around every feeding time, but takes 30sec to recover and join in the feeding.

Thanks for sharing bro. That's a beautiful piece and it's really well fed. How long have you had him?

Thanks.Had it for abt 3 years when it was 12". Not fussy eater... takes kuning, sotong, mp and even pellets if hungry enough.

Decided to do an update on my GATF.

Sold off the bigger piece cause it was too damn aggressive. The damage these guys can do to other fishes with their teeth is damn scary

Now left with my original piece that I've had for close to twenty months now and measuring at 19-20 inches. Recently did a revamp of my tank and now it's quite peaceful so for the first time in his life he's not being chased around by other fishes. He's developed a really big appetite, damn shiok to see him feeding so much and growing broader in size with no dropped scales

Photo just taken after he whacked a huge meal of kuning and mp

Question

Quick question, at this sizes they require a very big bag n oxygen? Transporting cld be tricky...as they tend to belly up in bag like big pbs, hooks etc...?

Ya they need big bag and air pump. But even if you have that they will most likely belly up once you put them in the bag. I just try to get them to the new tank as fast as possible. Haven't lost any so far, transported big ATF (more than 17") around 4 times.

Almost lost the 22 incher I sold but my buddy managed to revive it with air stone by its gills in his tank
