Tyres question
bros,
just curious as someone told me this . If the rim that I want to buy is 205x55x17 , but my existing tyre size is 215x55x17 , can I use it on the rim? Is this possible? Thanks. |

It's the width.
Rims has some tire width allowance if I'm not wrong. So if we use a wider tire, it will look a bit concave on the tire surface while if we use a narrower tire, it looks convex. IMO, 10mm width difference isn't much thus possible. Your tire /rim guys should be able to advise. |

Maybe you can ask the rims guys, what's the maximum tire width that rim can fit.
I remember having used a rim with a smaller width tire (205) and it was ok. Aesthetically not as nice if we pay attention to e tire (which most doesn't) as it doesn't look straight to the rim, but functionality wise, I didn't experience any compromise. |

205 x 5.5 x 17" refers to the tyre not the wheel rim. Your tyre height for 215 x 55% (aspect ratio) is 118.25mm (4.66"). For 205 x 5.5%, tyre height is 112.75mm (4.44") |
